Hummingbird Festival - Colorado Springs - May 12
This was a good festival for me with it's focus on hummingbirds. Thanks to everyone who came into my booth. I enjoyed talking with people about hummingbirds and selling prints and notecards. Special thanks to all the park rangers and volunteers who helped make the festival a success.
Rhubarb Festival - Pine Grove, CO - June 9
What a great day! My only disappointment was that I was too busy to get the rhubarb breakfast! Thanks to all who stopped by my booth and signed my guestbook. I made a few new friends and saw many old ones. This is one of the best small town festivals ever.
Bailey Day - Bailey, CO - June 30
Where did all the people come from? Bailey Day was a huge success this year. It was a long and busy day. Many thanks to all who visited my booth and made this one of my most successfull days this year.
Como July 4th Celebration
Historic Como held a fantastic celebration for the 4th of July. From the noonday parade to the chili supper and night of fireworks Como was the place to be on the 4th. I didn't stay for the dance after the fireworks, but heard it was great fun in the old schoolhouse. Click here for a photograph of a band of outlaws who stormed through town in the parade.
Art Festival and Wine Tasting - Highlands Ranch - August 11 Weather hot and music excellent - celtic, jazz, classical, and more jazz. The people of Highlands Ranch were friendly. The show was well organized and the location, around a central square, was clean and spacious. I don't know how the wine tasting went, I was too busy to leave my booth.
Library Book Sale - August 18 If you missed this little festival at the Park County Library on Crow Hill, be sure to watch for it next year. I always enjoy showing in the Bailey area, the people are so nice. There were hundreds, maybe thousands, of used books in the book sale tents; I came home with a good one. I think there were 12 arts and crafts booths and a food booth. Despite a heavy afternoon rain, the people came out to shop and talk, running from booth to booth in the rain.
Holiday Boutique at Conifer High School - November 3
I had heard this was a good show in past years and it didn't disappoint! The indoor holiday show has been going on for 30 years and is very well run by the Conifer Newcomers and Neighbors organization. Vendors contribute 10 percent of the total sales to the group who then use the funds to support our volunteer fire services and other community groups. I was so busy in my booth all day, I had little time to look around and see what was happening around me. Thanks to all the Newcomers and Neighbors volunteers who organized and helped throughout the day. It seemed there was always a volunteer nearby to ask if I needed any help, food, water, or a few minutes "break time". A gourmet lunch menu (donated by Aspen Specialty Foods to the high school music boosters group) served by orchestra students earned money for the CHS instrumental music program. Fantastic! Holiday Extravaganza - Bailey - November 10 - 11
Wow! Another good show. This was only the 2nd year for the Holiday Extravaganza at the Fitzsimmons Middle School, but just like last year, was so well organized you would have thought it had been going on for years. A portion of our booth fees went to help children with disabilities in Park County. The homestyle cooking going on in the cafeteria kept us well nourished for the two day show. Thanks to everyone who visited my booth and helped with this show.
